Use the mouse to control the hole (move it horizontally) to prevent opponent's balls (red) from entering, and getting balls shot by Dad (blue) in. If you move away too much from the standard hole size, the Sus Meter will go up potentially leading to your loss. If you don't smash insects before reaching you will get paralyzed for a second.
